🎤 Let’s Practice Pronouncing the Five Hiragana Vowels!

In Japanese, the five basic vowel sounds are:
あ、い、う、え、お
They are written in Romaji as: a, i, u, e, o.
Let’s practice each one slowly:

These five sounds are the foundation of Japanese pronunciation.
You will hear and use them in almost every word.

🎉 Let’s Make Some Simple Japanese Words with あいうえお!

Now that we’ve practiced the sounds あ、い、う、え、お,
let’s look at some easy Japanese words made only from these five letters!

I’ll show you words, and you can try to guess how to read them and what they mean.
There’s a small picture hint next to each word to help you. Ready? Let’s go!

Here’s the Answers! Let’s check one by one!

1. あい
Reading: ai
Meaning: love ❤️
You might hear this word in anime, songs, or dramas.

2. いえ
Reading: ie
Meaning: house 🏠
Use this when talking about your home.

3. あお
Reading: ao
Meaning: blue 💙
A basic color word you learn early.

4. うえ
Reading: ue
Meaning: up or above ⬆️
Used in directions, like “ue” (up) and “shita” (down).

5. おい
Reading: oi
Meaning: nephew
Not very common in daily talk but fun to know family words!

Even with just the five sounds あ・い・う・え・お,
you can make many real Japanese words!

Next time you see words like あい or あお in manga or anime,
you might recognize them! 👀✨

🌸 Did you know?
Emoji originally came from Japan! The word “emoji” is Japanese:
「絵 (e) = picture」 + 「文字 (moji) = character」.


They are now used worldwide, but they started as a way to express feelings in Japanese texts.

I had no idea “emoji” was that popular worldwide!
